“Illustrationmundo.com was created because I noticed that there were many catch-all design portals .. and great ones at that … portals that have inspired me for many years .. portals that provided information about design, photography, art, interactive, illustration, film, literature, etc .. but as I made the career transition from an art director to an illustrator I wanted to find a site specifically dedicated to commercial illustration with in depth information and a way to communicate easily with other illustrators. I wanted to find a site that was all about illustration and nothing else .. a site that I could think of as “THE ILLUSTRATION SITE”, but there wasn’t a site so I decided to create a centralized location that would be purely dedicated to this purpose … a FREE community based site about Illustrators and the commercial illustration industry.” - Nate Williams

A native of Brooklyn, NY, Hassan Kinley has emerged in the world of photography as a bold and creative talent. Offering a unique eye to Fine Art, Portrait and Travel Photography, his images are vibrant and have an uncanny spiritual quality. Working in both black and white and color, he tells an honest story of the moment , his work touches hearts and resonates in minds.
Since studying photography in London in 1995, as an assistant to legendary photographer Jon Gray, Kinley has become an innovative talent in his own right. His photographs capture the true shape, form and spirit of his subjects. The interplay of light, shadow and shape are a common thread and a standard he uses to interpret moods. Hassan's images causes the viewer to both visualize and connect.
For the past several years, Mr. Kinley has shot out-of-the-box advertising campaigns for clients such as The US Army, Pontiac, Columbia Theatrical and HBO. In fact, Hassan is sought after by many advertising agencies for the bite and spice his art offers and its ability to breakthrough the thick advertising “clutter.”
Hassan’s Statement:
“Deep in the center of my being is an infinite well of love for myself, for my art, and for everyone who blesses my life. This love has opened the floodgates of my creativity, moving me to people, places and experiences that have enabled me to grow and evolve as a photographer and visual artist, but most importantly as a person. Photography is not who I am, but rather the medium I have chosen to express my creativity. Creating is what I do, and what I love most about that is my ability to celebrate the creations of us all and of life itself.”

His background encompasses both computer science and design fundamentals. In his formative years, he was able to take advantage of the advent of emerging computer technology, by developing proficiency on both Macintosh and DOS platforms. He has always been an artist at the epicenter of his being. Everything and anything, even if it were nothing is art. It was only a matter of time before he combined the two elements of his life, art and technology, that surrounded him the most. After majoring in computer science at Polytechnic University, Sheldon challenged himself further artistically by mastering programs such as Macromedia Flash, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe Premiere; tools that are considered the standard in the new media industry.

Nate Piekos graduated from Rhode Island College in 1998 and instead of putting his graphic design degree to good use, he spent all his time playing guitar and drawing comics. He soon realized good, affordable comic fonts were hard to find, so he created a few to use in his indie book, The Whole Enchilada. On a whim, he put them online and KAPOW!!! Blambot Comic Fonts suddenly existed. Since then, Nate has become type designer to Harvey Award Winner, Mike “Madman” Allred, as well as having his designs licensed by such companies as Microsft, Sierra Software, New Yorker Magazine and The Gap. Now that he’s self-employed, Nate has time to draw his comic creations, ATLAND and LINT McCREE MYSTERIES. He lives in Rhode Island with his wife and three fish.

In honor of Anton Stankowski’s 100th birthday (1906 –1998), a grand retrospective provides a comprehensive view of his art and graphic design.
Stankowski’s oeuvre is impressive, thanks to its use of multiple media, ranging from photography and painting to graphic design, which contributed considerably to the visual image of the Federal Republic of Germany. Here, we will give you a brief idea of the various locations and fields in which Stankowski lived and worked. We will attempt to describe the plurality of his work, to point out common traits in his work and the way he visualized content. For Stankowski, there was no difference between the fine and applied arts. Both permeated his work. All of the works here are representative of many others.
