Amon: Can you share with us the story behind this piece?

Misk 1: Well to begin it was commissioned for a project that was called the World Book ABC capital of letters hosted in Antwerp, Belgium. I was given the letter “L” and was teamed up with a poet. Together we were connected to the word “LOVE”. Considering the way the world is today? Like the Beetles said “All we need is love”

The full mural itself took about 3 days including the LOVE sketch. I finished the LOVE piece in about a day.

You’d be surprised how those German’s (Belton) makes some sick paint. Just the piece itself 7 cans and I think on that portion of the walls I must of dusted 12 cans or less.

Amon: You’re walking down the street and you find a twenty dollar bill. What will most likely be the fate of this lucky find?

Misk 1: Oh man way back when I would’ve smoked or put it toward my Nike’s. Now a days I’ve been really into Karma, I’d pay it forward and give it to the first person asking for a donation. Not the local crack head, go get a job MF, but some cool kids raising money for their next team uniforms. I’m not rich and I struggle from time to time, but any chance to give back is really important to me.

Amon: When you begin a piece, do you see it in your head first or do just kind of go with it?

No, it’s always different than I visualize it. I always go into it thinking about some shape I want to work into it. But really my talent lies in knowing when to change it up and when to stop. Some people just don’t know when to stop and say finished. Sometimes it just flows out of my hand, kinda like my brain skips showing me and sends it directly to my hand.

Amon: Who was your favorite artist in Style Wars?

Misk 1: Dondi, between the sick color and block busters, what an inspiration.
